Abstract: this study aimed to investigate the effects of the use of language in the process of gameteaching and learning English grammar, in particular in the use of ' simple presenttense and simple past tense '. This study also examined the reactions of students and teachers ' views ofthe use of the language game. The subject of the study consists of 56 students form one from SMKDamai Jaya, Skudai. They were divided into Groups and Experimental GroupControls. Experimental group underwent language game while the control group didlead teacher-centered learning. Data from pre-test and post testsanalyzed descriptive basis. Data are also obtained through observation of the classroom to see guests reactionstudents of the language game in communication, motivation and interest to learn. Interviewwith English teachers is also done to obtain their views on thethe use of the language game in the process of teaching and learning grammar. The results of the studyindicates that the use of language games has given a positive impact on the process ofgrammar teaching and learning. Students found to be more motivated and interested in highWhen using the language game to learn grammar. It appears also thatteachers be positive of the potential to use games to teach grammar. IsIt is proposed to language games are used as an effective method in the process ofteaching and learning English grammar.
